These are Apple 2,3,5 and 6 out six of done that evening. Done as 10-12 min exercise with residual paint from the pallet.
These apples were so much simpler than spicy peppers. I however got to know about my artistic problems better: value in color is my challenge, as well as I donβt see shadows well. But according to Paint coach YouTube channel I will get better with such exercises. If my model is not eaten by next exercise I will get more apples painted.
Apple in 10 minutes keeps the skills growing or something like that. :)
Size of each mini painting is about 15* 15 cm. Oil on canvas paper.
I had improvised light box to ensure light is coming from one direction only, however after sunset ceiling light got to interfere with the light from the lamp. I tried to remove extra shadows, but it still may be ambiguous due to highlights.
It's admirable all these exercises and courses you do to improve your creative skills!
We learn a lot from you!
@HappyLittleCloud - try this exercise, this gives a nice challenge and I think it makes me to paint a bit loose.
@guna - I was worried if they look more like peaches. :) I am glad left bottom one turned into apple! Bon appetite!
@Voy - thank you Voy for your kind words! My objective this year to start painting on my own more without following tutorials. So much more practice is needed for that and as well as to gather all my bravery and start finding beauty in ordinary things like apple, pepper, clattered back yard, an so on. The thought that terrifies me - outside of home everything is boringly green... maybe I will find some flowers to try to paint... or will think about still life paintings... I wonder where this 2022 will take me.
Don't paint the jaguars girl! Unless they are caged!! ππ€©π
Thanks Voy! Jaguars will be in the cage π
Great job and study here!
@Mgiese - Thanks a lot! It is a very helpful study and I would like to do more of them.
