Michael James Smith lesson #4 for me on 24" x 24" linen covered panel. I was attracted to the dramatic contrasts of this painting's shadow and light. Capturing the detail of the cabin and the randomness of the mountains, trees, snow, and water was an enjoyable process. Hope you enjoy!
Next up will be my first real try at animals in a painting. Should be an interesting challenge as I combine an MJS tutorial with my own additions.
Looking great!
The contrasts are very well done.
I wouldn't mind spending the winter there. It looks cozy this way.
Super painting, really beautifully done mountain 👍✌️
Really cool. Great reflections and good work on the the warm and cool tones.
Beautiful, great job
Roy, this is fantastic.
whoa. just whoa. I'm blown away, by all of it, but that reflection especially as I've recently struggled with detailed reflections. well done!
Looks great. Nice work on the reflections.
Thank you all for the kind comments! It means a lot.
Update: I entered this painting in the Western Idaho State Fair and received a 1st place in the Armature Architecture class. Very encouraging to get this kind of feedback from the judges.
