I thought showing you the mega project I am working on. It’s a cutout of the province of Québec, painted inside the most prestigious landmark of our beautiful city, the Château Frontenac. It’s not a castle. It has been built as a hotel and opened in 1893. It’s located in the old Québec, part of the city that was colonized by the French. So all the architecture is French. It’s breathtaking. I used to be there everyday when I was in high school since I went to the oldest school in North America… Le Petit Séminaire de Québec. I didn’t appreciate it as much as I do now.

So for my 200th painting, I had to go big. I put 4 days into this project so far. The detailing is incredible (see original picture inspired from attached to this post). But I wanted something that was very challenging, meaningful and fun to do.

Next time I post will be when it’s done. So don’t worry if I don’t post anything soon. I am a little busy bee at work! 🐝🐝🐝 Lol!

I will come and comment on your masterpieces everyday or so. 😀

Beautiful Nancy! I stayed there in the 80’s while building a drilling rig at the shipyard. A beautiful and historic building.

You did?!!! That's incredible! So you know where I am from! It's rare I meet people that have been in my hometown... and you're the 1st one that I know that has stayed in the Château Frontenac. I bet it's as beautiful inside. I have never been in a room. Just lobby, some of the conferences room and the stores.

Ohhhh - can't wait for the finish. It is awesome so far.

I will be waiting, not so patiently, for the finished product. Looks amazing so far.

Definitely amazing so far! Thanks for the preview!

Amazing

Unbelievable, Can’t wait for the finished product

Nancy, you are right there - a MEGA Project. My wife and I also stayed there on our Canada trip in July 2016. I think you will cover up with your map of the Province (Privince?), the window my wife was waving to me from when I took a photo we have that I just looked at. I had just walked up the steps from the old part of the city. I can see that window in your photo. We had a lovely time in Quebec. I look forward to seeing your final painting. A great reminder of a wonderful trip. Extremely well done so far. Cheers

The shipyard had a lock out for 6 weeks and I was unable to work until it was resolved. So I called my wife and had her come join me for 3 weeks. We had a blast!

Fantastic 👍🏼🇩🇪

Thank you all for the amazing support! I really can’t wait to be done with it and share it with you my awesome TIB family! 😊

Dave… I am so happy to hear you also had the opportunity to enjoy my hometown! It makes my day! 🥰 The cut out is on the canvas. You can see it in the picture. Once I peel it off, the Chateau Frontenac will be painted inside defining the shape of the Province.

So cool B!!! Did you wife like Québec? People are in awe with Montréal but Québec is so much more beautiful and romantic.

WOW you have waaaayyy more patience than me for those cut outs! Looking wonderful so far!

Unbelievably good work you have done! Really happy to see your post and progress again!

Well you are a complete painter now. I always admire your work and your motivation to get better with each picture. This is something I only saw at your work.
You should think about selling your paintings if you didn't yet. They are super!

Awwww! 🥹🥹🥹 Thank you so much Tom! Lots of people are telling me I should sell them. I will at some point. For now, I am enjoying getting better at every painting!

Thank you very much Pam! I have a goal in mind, love getting challenged and lots of love for the art. Then patience happens without trying. I’ll be impatient in a lot of other aspects in my life but I guess it will eventually bleed in those areas too. Painting is allowing me to pick up a new skill a long the way! 😉

Thank you bunches my friend Jim! Glad you appreciate the progress! I can’t wait to show the final result. I am used to paint a different scene everyday. This is actually very weird to work on the same project over a week now. I am hopeful to be done this week and celebrate with you all my 200th composition! 😃
