**Just added the natural light picture of this painting. The blues come out so much better!ย ๐ฅฐ**
The picture looks a lot darker than in real. I tried to brighten it but it wasnโt enough I guess. I hope you can still see the painting well.
I got this tutorial as soon as I saw it in February. I felt in major love with it ! ๐
My fav animals are whales. And my fav whale type is the humpback whale. My name was written all over it!
I had to acquire a few different things to make this painting..: flat brush (got 3 diff sizes just in case. I actually used all 3 of them and permanent rose oil paint). I was only waiting for the right day to make it happen. Today was its day!
Itโs the 1st time I paint with a flat brush. I love that new brush! It will be great for floral when I get to it some day.
I am super happy with this one! It does something good to my heart. โค๏ธ๐ณโค๏ธ
Thank you so much Sandy! โบ๏ธ I totally agree, there is something so special and precious about a baby whale with its mom. So soothing, peaceful and puts a smile on. โค๏ธ๐ณ
beautiful!
Thank you Jessie! ๐
Good morning / guten Morgen my friend. That's something completely different from you as usual and I would like to say, it's beautiful. The reflections and shadows are ingenious great art, Beauty . I'm really flashed and your painting brightens up my day๐โ๏ธ๐ฉ๐ช
It's beautiful r love the highlights on the whales
Beautiful!
The whales, the caustics effect on them, the water with the air trail. <3
This is using the wet-on-wet technique, right?
Wonderful melting pot of movement and light, in a less easy painting environment.
Well done!
And the art models in the center are top chosen!
Super work. Robert Warren has some great tutorials, isnโt it?
Thank you so much my friend Dirk! โบ๏ธ Yes, very different than the typical landscapes. I was a little nervous because I never painted animals before. But Robert has a trick in his pocket to make this painting perfect. I am really glad itโs brighten up your day! ๐
Thank you so much cold! I thought it was a great addition to the painting too when Robert put the water reflections on them too.
Thank you very much Titia! It is wet-on-wet technique.

Thx Tim! This was lots of fun. My 1st underwater painting. You should try. Itโs awesome!
George and Gracie! ๐๐ What a beautiful painting you have created Nancy, The water is so realistic and the large whale has such a wise, peaceful and majestic look in its eye, i bet it could tell a tale or two of its adventures under the sea ๐
Awwww! Thank you so very much Niv! โบ๏ธ it makes it easier to create beauty when you truly love the subject of the painting. For my first underwater painting, I am super happy with it!
