When I saw this one, I got excited to learn how to paint hot air balloons. The scene is a little bare but it really works. Very soothing and peaceful composition. It would make a beautiful piece for a baby or kidβs room.
I just realize that my furthest HA balloons are crooked. π³ They usually go up when thereβs no wind. So I canβt say that it was a windy morning. π Oh well, it make it unique.
Very beautiful!. You are talented.
Simple composition but very effective.
Good example of "less is more".
Weel done. <3
Btw, if any of you ever have the chance to go on a hot balloon ride, go for it!
It's quite the experience.
Nice & easy, good for kids!
Really nice compo! Love the balloons!
Cool π.
My least favorite Warren work, but, you certainly did nail it.
Looks good
Bonjour my friend! π©πͺβοΈ Thank you very much. I used BR, BA and KH brushes. Robert uses a badger brush. It's a flat brush used for blending, making sharp edges and in florals. I have 2 different sizes (those are from BA brushes brand). I did finish it in 1 session. I had few stopping points, meaning that I could have picked up the project the next day no problem due to the way Robert has us doing it, but I just kept going. For the edges, I used painter's tape. It makes them extremely sharp. Hope this helps. π
Thank you very much Jin! π
Great Job as always Nancy! Robert Warren brings some totally new ideas, isn't it?
I totally agree Titia! Less is More with this one. The Big balloon took most time of the tutorial. I am sure Robert would have added more elements (like mountains or more balloons) if he wasn't restrained to 30 mins like Bob. But I like it the way it is.
I was supposed to many years ago when I was skydiving. The plan was to jump and enjoy a nice breeze! π But it got cancelled due to the weather. I never was able to have another opportunity to enjoy a ride. Someday, for sure! It's on the bucket list! πͺ£π
Thx Jos! π The big HA balloon is tricky if you don't do it the way Robert teaches it. It's a lot of prep... between the lilac frame, HA balloons, it took me about 1 - 1.5 hour to be ready to paint. But it well worth it.
Thank you Sandy. The balloon was such an excitement to paint!
Thank you B & Cold! π
Tomi, this one teaches you lots about roundness, how to give dimension to the gores (vertical ribs). The light behaves differently at each of them. π
Thank you much Tom! He totally does! That's why I love doing his tutorials. He teaches us how to make something that could be extremely complicated in a simpler way. I always learn so much from him.

Good Morning.Nancy. A very nice painting. Great blending in the sky and the balloons are great. Question: do you only use BR equipment and do you finish painting in one session? The edges
are always extremely sharpππΌπ©πͺ
