I chose this tutorial for the sky. You know me and my many failed clouds/skies. I thought to give this one a shot to improve my skills. I am happy how it turned out.
The sea & wave were also a great learning opportunity. Lots of new tricks in my painting tool box! 😉
I did the sky first, waited few days later to do the bottom part. So it was a 2 day project. Canvas size: 18”x24”

No fails in this sky as I see it! Neither in the bottom part, really great painting! Was there a particular reason in waiting a few days to do the lower half?

When I do Kevin’s tutorial, it takes me a long time to get thru. It’s a somewhat a new technique therefore, I have to take my time. There is always a stopping point in his tutorials. Here, was when I was done with the sky. If I had stopped in the middle of doing my wave, the blending wouldn’t have been the same the next day since the paint is almost dry at that point. I would have had to do more work to get it to where I want it to blend. I learned the hard way when I did his “windy crashing wave” almost a month ago.
