Ernesto "Che" Guevara (1928 – 1967) was an Argentine Marxist physician, author, revolutionary, guerrilla leader, diplomat, and military theorist. He played a huge role in the Cuban Revolution alongside Fidel Castro (1926 - 2016). His visage has become a cultural symbol of rebellion and global insignia in popular culture.
Known for his anti-imperialism and commitment to socialist ideals, he became one of the iconic symbols of rebellion and leftist movements worldwide. After helping establish a communist government in Cuba, he tried to spark similar revolutions in Africa and South America, but he was captured and executed in 1967 by a Bolivian army.
