This was an adventure! I went to the dog beach and set up my easel right in the sand. There is definitely essence of sand, water droplets and fish flies mixed in for texture! I've never tried people like this before. I think I would add a little shade to the sides of the faces.
Anyone who sets up on the sand deserves admiration, well done for going for it. (I plan to do mine on the promenade). The dog looks like he's having a great time. I agree with flippergirl, those people are not right in the foreground so they don't need much detail.
.....I can hear the music in my head, EVERYBODY OUT OF THE WATER!!
Thanks everybody! Since the rules for the plein air event were to do the whole thing on location - no touch ups or finishing, I just left it for my challenge entry. (But I did add a beard to my husband while it was drying outside still. I can't believe I forgot his beard!)

I think this turned out super cute! love the color variations in the sand. I do not agree with you about the shading on the people. I think they are good the way they are.
