Thanks everyone! It was hard getting back into this after such a long break. Lots of self doubt. But once life settles down a bit I’m looking forward to painting more regularly.

I believe that in real the blue part on the wings has a metalic shine to it?

Thanks TitiaD! Yes this was painted on copper. I intentionally left a good portion unpainted and the parts on the butterfly with color I let some metal peek through. It’s hard to capture on photo because of the glare but it’s really neat in person when the light reflects off it.
