Quite the challenge! I've never drawn horses before, but the scene attracted me. Unusual tree. Oil on 18x24 Canvas Panel, inspired by a photo by Smitherine posted on Pixabay with 'Free Use' license to encourage artists to use these photos - some really nice stuff out there. Modified this a bit with artistic license. Learned a lot doing this! Lots of fun.
Very nice scene and super painted!
You did a beautiful job with the horses! Gorgeous composition.
Beautiful painting and horses are gorgeous! So well done!
Some work gone into this, beautiful painting....well done!
Thanks for the kind words Dan, Jos, Kerri, Sandy and Terry! Spot on Dan, good eye. Yes, I did this in 3 phases: 90% using Bob Ross methods to really shape the whole scene, then added detail to the tree, then the horses and final touches. Relaxing.
Love those horses Lpm!

Great painting Larry. Love the scene. Looks like an upcountry ranch on Maui with the 2 horses under a monkey pod tree. Could be wrong but that’s what it looks like to me. The tree is awesome. Great job on the horses as well. So detailed must of taken quite a while to complete. Really well done.
