10 minute sketch this morning on regular paper...I haven't sketched in (36??) Yrs ..( Yes I will help with the math I'm 54) I am looking forward to sketch some better challenges other than my soap dispenser. I could not find my old sketchbook but i did find actual sketch pencils.

This is wonderful news! I agree that paper matters as I draw on the kids art supply paper and it behaves badly. I have some other type to test.

But back to your morning sketch. It is fantastic how quick you did it! Nice re-Start! Looking forward for more!

I dont know how you and Voy do it so quick all the little drawings! This must be a passion.

Thank you Sunnylady... This is just a little doodle compared to your wonderful piece that you sketched.
You showed amazing texture all over it. I hope that I can do something as good as yours.Yes art has always been a passion of mine but it had to take a back seat for many many years.

Yes, I totally hear you. I had a break of 15 years before I resumed painting. However during 8-10 of those 15 years I was doing photography instead. Then there was acrylics period, but I did not succeed due to difficulty of doing BR with acrylics. The true pleasure of painting happened when I switched to oil painting from acrylics in 2019.

Let me share couple of links here about the texture:

And one more: https://youtu.be/j3INAHNlEWI

I think you will surf from there to follow your heart with all the texturing and pencil drawing videos.

Dont judge yourself harsh, you may be a bit rusty after a long break. But there is surely something you already have as a good base.It is just learning curve and there will be challenges that will help you to grow through your hard work.
I always watch those super realistic pencil drawings on the internet and think : "I cannot do it YET!" Because I know if one has passion all the difficulties will be gone through learning and working out.

Voy Kay Conqueror of Challenges

LJM, your hidden (and unhidden) talents never seize to amaze me! Sheer beauty this one with such simplicity.

Hmmm, never knew we shared the same age!! Isn't it a great number??!! :) :) :)

Hi Sunnylady thanks for the video links I will be watching lots of sketch videos now as these are great. Definitely felt rusty doing this sketch...but it also felt good. I love a challenge so I'm hoping for a good improvement on my next sketch. In my opinion you DID a super realistic sketch!! and you should be saying I DID IT.
Thank you so much for your encouraging words!☺

I did it!

Thank you LJM for your support and your kind words! I indeed like that sketch!
I love the idea of doing sketches of the small things at home. I think this is very inspiring!

Hi Voy. Thanks so much for your comments. I am inspired by all the art that I see here and by yours and everyone's comments.
