I had two hours to paint and clean up so I challenged myself to move quickly on this one. Another 18x24” Pretty happy with most of it!
Amazing mountains, the colors harmony is perfect
Pretty good, Kaylee. I spent three hours on my last painting, and that one didn't have as much detail as yours here. I suspect we forget that the more we jam into a scene, the longer it should take us (in theory, anyway). For you to get this much done in less than two hours...you must've been moving along. Great painting. And l love that it's an original creation, too.
Thank you Sandy, jimibasha, and Alex. I sure did move along on this one. For me I think it’s more about the illusions of detail which I am starting to really understand. Sometimes I tend to over thing the process and overwork a spot then just find myself covering it up later in the creation. I am currently working on my “less is more” technique 😂 big brushes and quick movements seem to really get it done right for me and I spend less time during the painting cleaning with more brushes 😅 I don’t think I will be trying to whip them out this quickly on a regular basis but it’s rather exhausting to spend 6-8 hours on something when the sun is shining, just begging me to go out and play so the best of both worlds I suppose! Thank you so much for your comments!
Great scene and the foreground rocks highlights really work well.
