Moonscape Re-Creation

This is a re-creation of a painting from Astronomy Magazine. My husband subscribes to this magazine and has quite an interest in astronomy. He asked me to try painting one of the paintings displayed in the magazine. The issue was dedicated to artists renditions of space and celestial objects. The painting is by an artist named Mark Pestana. There were many very talented artists displayed in the magazine. This type of painting is definitely out of my normal landscape comfort zone, but I enjoyed the challenge. These are liquitex acrylics on a 16 X 20 canvas
