This is based off of a video from 'Paint Coach' on YouTube.
In order of completion: top left was done from memory, top right with the video, bottom right is another from memory with changes, and bottom left is an iteration of the top right. I like something different about each one, but none are 100% to my eye.
For anyone interested in composition, Ian Roberts has some great videos on YT. He's quickly become a favorite of mine for his style of communication and easy to understand lessons.
Thanks Dirk. There are so many different ways to approach oil painting, and different art styles, it's fun to experiment. I also find it encouraging that there is no ONE right way that a painting should look, beyond the fundamentals.
