This is the other thing I've been plugging away at. I selected a photo of a landscape from the internet, and ran it through some image editing software similar to photoshop to simplify and 'painting-ify' it. I then attempted to paint the result. I realize now that I should have adjusted for the difference in aspect ratio and cropped it for composition sake. I learned a lot about color matching throughout this process. I've attached both versions of the source material.
Love it. Very soothing. Iβd love to see some geese or other birds silhouetted in the sky.
Looks nice, Jeff!
The sky is very Thomas Moran. Very nice.
Good Morning,Jeff . Good work, the picture conveys an infinite expanse, in my eyesππΌπ©πͺ
Very nice.
Very nice work!
Thanks everyone! Barbara, that's a great idea!
Really great exercise you made for yourself! Kudos! ! Awesome success.
thank you Sunny! It truly was an exercise, countless super subtle shifts in color made my brain hurt, I ended up giving up when it came to the bottom right corner.
Very nice
Now you brain sees color better :) you gave it a really nice work out.
That corner looks like it is some sort of deserted area. Brings different feeling compared to original. Are you doing one more like this?
Sunny, I only just now saw your question. I don't plan to do another soon, as it was such a pain. I'd love to attempt something like this in the distant future, when I'm more confident, do it loose, in a day or two rather than the weeks I spent figuring this one out. Thanks for the question!
No problems at all Jeffth. Yes color matching is one of the most difficult things as I see it. But more you mix muddy colors intentionally better you get at mixing.
Seeing the progress you have - you will get there in no time - just keep going.
I like the play you created in this painting even it took weeks.
Remember when you were doing this you were reworking your brain. It is tough. And you did great!
