As a mothers day gift for my wife, I had a friend cut this silhouette of a moose from steel sheating. Then I used black gesso to cover coat it. It was definitely a learning curve using oils on steel but I'm really happy with the outcome.
A really fun twist to a cool painting. Great job she should love it
Amazing creation, what beautiful colours and so well placed within the silhouette!
This was cut by laser, wasn't it? What is the size of the creation?
Very cool! I love the concept of a landscape within a silhouette!
SWEET!
Thanks everyone! I appreciate the positive feedback.
I was thinking of hanging the moose silhouette with some cedar boards behind it to give a nice back drop. But I also don't want to "over do it" on the painting. Any thoughts?
@Voy Kay Yeah I'm sure he used a laser cutting program to cut it out. The piece was roughly cut from a 32" x 36" sheet of metal.
Thanks for the info!
I guess you should hang this behind a white or very light background. The wood is a great idea and perhaps you can find light coloured cedar boards?
@Voy Kay Actually you gave me an idea. Maybe try some antique barn wood that's stained a vintage white look.
Please make certain t oshow us a picture afterwards!! 💖😉

Really great job! I like how the aurora is up in his horns as well as his back!
