Settled for distant mountain and cliffs at dusk. Usually I place something upfront but settled for now on where things are at with it.
I really like the simplicity of this one. I tend to jam too much into a painting.
Great colors in the sky and those cliffs!
Thank you :) I tend to jam too much stuff in too. I think it’s from watching Bob Ross and thinking I need a bravery test lol.
Thank you emchop and flipper :) in answer to your question no I don’t dry them out. Perhaps I should. I shake them up in the bottle and then load the pallet. After I do that I use the liquid white or whatever medium. So the oil does sit for a few minutes before I start but other than that I just grab a real thin layer after I have the base brown on for cliffs. A thin layer of my highlight and barely touch the cliffs as I go over them. “Whisper light” Bob says. Hope that helps.

Your brown cliff is fabulous. And the clouds too! May I ask, did you ‘dry’ your brown paints out before applying them? I always seem to end up with mud when I try brown mountains.
