Tried an unusual format (52ร60cm) for me with this one. I figured it would work best as a vertical painting and I think that was the right decision! Also I wanted to try and mix up my colors for a single painting a bit more since I tend to keep my forest paintings almost monochrome or duochrome. I think the touches of yellow and red work quite well in the foliage of this forest! Now I only have to find a place on the wall (or a buyer for that happy buck) for it
Thanks a lot sandy!
Very nice Marc
Thanks Matt!
I'm loving the light green background.
Hey Marc nice piece . The background reminds me of Bob's "After the Rain"๐๐ผ๐
Thank you Nick!
Thanks Dirk! Bob uses that style of background in a few of his deep woods paintings and it's one of my favourite things I learned from his show!
But now that you say it, "After the the Rain" definitely is one I should do some time soon!
Super painting Marc!
Very nice Marc. our rocky walls look great.
Very nice
Your forest scenes are sublime! This one doesnโt fail! Itโs beautiful Marc!
Super work Marc, really great.
this is absolutely gorgeous! what brush did you use for the green leaf clumps in the foreground bushes?
Thanks a lot to all you lovely people!
@Jessie I used exclusively one Inch brushes for all the foliage! I used one for the greens and one for yellow and red. Since I paint with acrylics they tend to become a bit "soggy" the more I use them in a single painting. Thats why I assume the foremost green bushes have a bit more "clumpy" effect than the others. The "soggier" the brushes get the harder it is to maintain a light touch :)
I totally thought this was oil! wow even more impressive, I like the leaf clumps they look very natural, I thought you were using some special brush!
now I see the article, I'll definitely have to read that!
