Seascape with a Lighthouse

Gangi 31 Oct 2026

Well this concludes the last 1 hour instructional DVDs. One would think that living on an island, my favorite hockey team being the Islanders, that I would have been excited about this one. But truth is, I wasn’t. But at least I can say I did a seascape.

I am on vacation right now and I am gifting this to a friend who will hang it in her maritime themed bathroom (hopefully). Hope she enjoys it.

I think it is a very nice version!

This was a tough one. My friend lent me some painting materials. All his Ross branded paints were so oily they were leaking from the tubes. His magic white was a thick goop so applying it was a bit rough. Also, many of the areas in the painting that called for liquid white, I couldn’t put down any. This was me improvising a scene I had never painted before. The photo changed the colors in the painting quite a bit. The lighthouse had a pinkish glow for highlights. The camera made them white. What eve

I like it! Being away from home, using borrowed materials just makes it better in my mind. I also believe photographs are never quite as good as the actual painting.
