I had so much fun with this one the first time I decided to paint it again on an 18x24 canvas, add a bridge, and focus on some additional highlights in the distant woods. This is under painted in acrylic and finished in oils.
How do you find painting the same subject second time? I always feel that I improve some areas and hurt others when do the second version. Overall it feels easier to paint, but mistakes annoy more. How did your painting go?
Nice soft light through the mist you got here. It feels like it is morning.
Super work Debbie.
Great atmosphere in this one!
Loving the colours and the contrast in light and dark. Really makes it look like the sun is starting to come through on this misty morning.
I would love to spend the day on this beautiful creek! Super Debbie!
Very nice Debbie. The lighting is excellent.
Thanks PB, the highlights were fun to play with.
Sunnylady, I agree with you on gains and losses in this second painting. I wanted more highlights in the distant woods area which I accomplished, but feel the rocks are more to my liking in the first painting.
Being I painted with acrylic first it was easy to get the layout a second time.
It is a morning scene and I definitely like the misty effect so I'm thinking to come up with a different scene.
Thanks so much Tom.
Thanks TitiaD, the contrast really does make it pop.
Thanks Cronenberg, I should have included a bench for you to sit on!
Thank you TonyM, I spent some time trying to get it right.
Good job
