Attempted to create a light to lift my spirits after a passing. The glow has accomplished that.
Thank you Sunnylady. I was experimenting with Naples Yellow and Yellow Oxide and got carried away. Itβs kind of a cloudy day with the light burning through. I guess I could still brighten a spot and pull some rays down. Thanks for the tip π
The leaves were first applied with a small piece of sponge, then I used a Princeton Filbert Grainer 1/8β to clean it up and add highlights. It did take some time.
I would never guessed it was a sponge on the trees! this is totally awesome idea!
I cut around a 1/2β piece of sponge and test it out on the palette before applying to the painting. I cut a second piece about half way through as it gets clogged with paint and produces globs.

If you don't mind me sharing something new I learnt recently about the light. I got to know that darker the tone around the source - brighter the light is from that source. Also source of light cannot have a super big size on the canvas to create that effect. Also somehow it makes the entire painting brighter somehow compare when it is way to much of very light tone. I did not figure out how it works in our brains yet...
Trees are awesome! how did you make leaves? It looks like a lot of detailed work there.
Very beautiful and calm painting you got here!
