This was inspired by a Yarnell tutorial. It called for a rough canvas created by brushing the canvas with heavy gesso creating a textured surface. I got the idea to cover a used canvas and it worked pretty well. Next time I’ll gently sand the used surface before applying the gesso. With so many paintings stacking up I’m going to experiment with this further.
This is mostly acrylic with some oil in the water of which I’m not thrilled with. On to the next. 16 x 20
Very nice rocks and water!
Fantastic water in the pool! Great transparency and depth! Fantastic rocks as well! I am looking at matrix of composition for a tiny waterfall painting I plan to do soon. Thanks for the inspiration with you wonderful painting!
Thanks Voy, I spent too much time on those rocks working on shape and highlights. Hopefully it gets easier!
Thank you Joha59! I was surprised how the Ultramarine Blue and Turquoise Deep with a little white came together in the water.
Thank you Sunnylady, I'm happy to be of some inspiration and I look forward to seeing your next creation!

Wooaaah! Such wild rocks yet such delicate, almost glassy fall. A real gem!
