I painted another since the first was so enjoyable. 16x20, Gamblin Oils.
love it .. love the texture .. and the fat trunk very characteristic
I love this tree so much! I have a big oak almost just like this one. Yours is so real - I want to climb it!
Thanks to all, Iβm pleased you like the old tree! I primarily used a liner brush to create the bark effect. There is a nice place to sit without climbing too high π
Wow, amazing tree ππ
Thank you Umagaan, I was just looking at all the beautiful trees in your paintings.
Thanks π€ I love the way the tree trunks look on your tree. They have so much texture. Any tips? π€
Umagaan, I paint in the bulk of the tree with a filbert using the darkest shade I want in the bark. The rest I do with a liner brush blending lighter shades into the dark to create the contour and highlights. I use a Kevin Hill liner that works better for me as the bristles are longer than a Ross, but Iβm sure any would work. I use liquid clear on the canvas so the darks arenβt diluted.
It takes some time but itβs fun to see the shape change as you work with it.
