I struggled with this one… my first attempt the colors were dull - so much so that I couldn’t even get the sky to reflect in the water. This second painting is done on a black canvas instead of covering a white canvas with black gesso. I’m not sure if that was the solution to my problem. There are things I like better in my first try… like the clouds, bushes, and the length of the sky. I’m growing and learning. So much ch fun!
Additional note:
… there is 1 other thing I did. I still have tubes of BR paints manufactured in the UK… I used them only for the sky and water. They are extremely oily and the Indian yellow looks nothing like my normal tubes of paint… much brighter… the crimson is slightly brighter too. I’ll include a pic below.
Nicely done 👍✌️
Beautiful work! 😍
had the exact same issue when I did this one 2 weeks ago. My Indian yellow & crimson were not vibrant at all. I still can’t pin point what happened.
