My 50th oil painting of 2021, and indeed ever. Followed a Stephen Conway tutorial and the technique was quite different. Was so scared to put the fireman in but he came out ok, albeit probably a little small.
The fireman is in perspective with the fence, just great!
That fire, and the fireman, look so real, almost a photo. You painted that fire up to perfection, I can almost feel its heat!
Excellent painting! Very realistic fire and the firefighter is done very well!
Very impressive painting, and the fireman is perfect as it is!
Thank you all, I loved the image and it captures the bravery of our wonderful fire fighters. A friend is a Watch Commander and I thought about giving it to his station. I always worry that if you give someone a painting they may not like it or think it is rubbish but then feel obliged to display it. Presume most of us feel like this?
I’m sure the Watch Commander would be proud to display this wonderful painting. Great picture.
Fantastic flame! Fireman looks fine to show that elements may be wild!
I usually ask people if they not like painting not to take it and repeat few times that I will not be offended. I prefer sending a photograph first telling that I would like to give it as a present.
@Sunnylady, thanks for that advice. Will adopt that approach. Art is so subjective but we know how much time and effort we’ve invested in something.

Great job on the firefighter! I think the scale is spot on. The fire is fantastic. A Fire Company would love to have this hanging at the Firehouse I would think. Maybe present it to your local Fire Chief ?
