This is my Version of „to the summit“of Bill Alexander . I like the Old Master very much and so i decided to try this one . I let the colours dry over Night on newspapersites , very Old School.The colours in the sky are much darker and without the Knife trees because that was to abstract for my style .I tryed to gave the Mountains the typical BA Style, to let them shine. I painted this in 2 Sessions , Yesterday only the sky and today the Mountains etc. I tryed to find a mix between BA and BR for the Blending because i want it not so massive like Bill does . So i hope that Bill would have liked it and you here in the Community too . Fresh from before 30 min. / Carton, 18 x 24 cm (7,09 x 9,45 inch ) ,2 x white gesso every side . Time overall 3 Hours . Underneath is a second picture after2 days drying .The colours changed . They looks much more darker now

Superb painting Dirk! Finally you fired in!! And it came out great! I love the light dark contrast. The mountains are superbly highlighted. It is a very well done work.

It is fantastic how you do it on such small scale. Cm instead of inches! Mountains look great!

It is drastic indeed. Do you like the outcome or you wish it stayed the way it was?
I think yet its a better Balance between sky and Water .dark with dark . On the other side iits not so shiny as it was but i can live with it 😎
