Today I was in the mood to paint a Seascape again. I chose a painting by Paul Ranson(No special title)because I liked to paint with only 5 colours and use an ultramarine blue. The format is one of my favourite (7,09 x 9,45 Inch ). I hope I was able to capture the mood of the original and also incorporate my interpretation. Here is my version of Paul Ransons, Seascape and I hope you like it.Totally fresh from 25 minutes ago.
Canvasboard, 18 x 24 cm( 7,09 x 9,45 inch)black Gesso, liquid clear, time 2.5 hours
Hey, Niv. Nice to hear from you. Thank you so much ππΌ
Very nice
Hey Cold , Thank you . Glad you like itππΌ
Really beautiful! Love your seascapes Dirk! So relaxing!
Hey Sandy, thank you very much for your great words ππΌI appreciate that .
Nice version Dirk, especially the foam and the shape of the wave.
Hey Jos. I think you painted it too. Not so long ago. In this respect, I am happy to accept that. Glad you like it .Thank you πππΌ
Yes I did this one too and I surely recommend the seascape in pastel colors of Paul, great result with his used colors, if you have time ...
Okay, Jos, just for you on my list (Pastell seascape) My problem is, the list is getting longer and longer instead of shorter πππΌand I'm still looking at Justin. He partially paints on a dry surface, which already causes me problems
The longer the list the better in my opinion, unless you have no time to paint them. painting in oil on dry canvas, I have tried it some times but the paintings where not to look at. Even the paintings from Bob without clear or liq. white, the results were awful, I think canvasboard is also not suitable for that. Painting on black gesso and clear is also better on stretched canvas then on board in my opinion.
That's what I see now. Huge difference from canvas to canvasboard with gesso etc. And dry painting cost me three times scraping off.
Hey Dirk, great work. That big wave is amazing!
Hey Tom, big compliment, thank you for that. Nice that you like it. I'm very happy πππΌ
I love the touches of red in this beautiful seascape! You are The mood of this painting is sublime. The energy in the sea is just right! Well done my friend! ππΌ
Hey my friend, thank you for not getting tired of commenting. πI tried to stay close to Paul. At the moment I'm trying to get better with the seascapes that's why seascapes again and again. ππΌπ©πͺ
Oh stop it! I will never stop commenting on your art! I love your recreations so much! You are a great artist my friend!!!
You are doing really good! Better than me. Iβll have to do a seascape fest at some point to nail the technique better!
Thanks again Nancy, I appreciate that π
