The White-bellied (or White-breasted) Sea Eagle is common on the Australian and SE-Asia and Pacific Islands coastal areas, often preying on fish and other water inhabiting animals and also carrion. This painting was painted in oils on a 14x11” mdf panel from a photo (‘Siezing waterborne prey’) in Wikipedia licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International license; and authored by Manojiritty. This was a challenging and enjoyable painting. Enjoy.

Holy Molly Dave!!! That's gorgeous! All the details are stunning! The water and the little splashes look so real. And the star of this compo, your eagle, is splendid!! Great work!

Thank you Nancy, Sandy, Brian and Dirk for your great compliments. They are very much appreciated. I might have to highlight the eagles co-star a bit more. It must have been a mullet (greyish colour). Cheers.
