‘Mt Rainier’ (from a Sarah Burns tute) is my 2nd attempt at learning to paint with gouache. It is painted on 7x5” 150 gsm Frencheville Watercolour sheet to see how my painting in gouache on cheaper paper went - not as good as I like, so in future it will be back to the better wc paper. I extended past the tute by trying to follow the photo (credit Sarah Burns) further to achieve a more photo-realistic outcome - all part of the learning. Enjoy, cheers
Thanks Dirk, much appreciated, cheers
Nice. I don’t even know what gouache is.
Nice 👍 👍
Thanks Cold. Gouache is a thicker, more opaque watercolour, that allows you to paint light over dark; as opposed to watercolour that is thinner and you have to preserve your white areas and paint from lightest colours to that darker colours.
Thanks Brian, cheers.
Nice work. I always say the paper is the most important key to watercolor/gouache painting.
Thanks Tom, you are absolutely correct on that, cheers
