I found this happy little painting of fir trees and northern lights amongst my archives that I hadn’t shared at the time of painting a few months ago. It was a introductory painting I did on an black gessoed A4 canvas sheet using Bram’s YouTube channel prior to doing Bob’s ‘Northern Lights’ painting. It is actually the best of 2 that I did at the time, to practice the lights, trees with snow and the stars. I still like this painting very much so I thought I would share it with you.
Snowy trees are excellent Dave! really love them! nice capture of cold winter!
It's pleasing to the eye what you've been able to do with the highlighting with the trees in the foreground. There are A LOT of them, and yet with what you've done you can really make out the individual trees as opposed to seeing just a big clump. Really well done!
Thank you everyone. I particularly liked it when I saw Bram paint it and then when I copied his YouTube video; and I got a buzz when I uncovered it yesterday.
Love this.
