I’ve painted this from a photo of an original painting Bob used for his demonstrations prior to commencing his TV Series. The painting was bought by my CRI and used last month in her BR painting class that I couldn’t make. It is posted as an original in accord with Felix’s comments on these Special Paintings in the ‘Summer of Grandeur’ Forum thread, and because I used only the photo and no other videos or technique guidances - just my memory of the techniques; same as I do for my other ‘original paintings’. I chose this painting as a 1 year comparison painting to compare with my first ever oil painting 12 months ago at the start of my Profile - as a visual gauge of progress made. Whilst there are some obvious improvements that could have been made, I’m quite happy with the end result. It is painted on a 50 x 40 cm (20 x 16”) canvas prepped with a light grey gesso.
I made an article for you over here. If you wish you can read it and let me know and I will unpublish it from there so we keep it between us.

Hi Sunnylady, your very constructive critique and suggestions are very much appreciated; as other than 1 physical BR class in April and another next week, I am basically teaching myself from BR's videos and members comments on 2"B. I have greatly appreciated your articles and references in the past, your most very recent article (thank you) and for the benefit of myself and others I invite your further suggestions. My email address is in my profile and I look forward to further discussions.
Dave, I am glad if my comments are helping to learn/try something new. I had 3 BR classes and that is when I realized that I want to continue with oils. Then BR channel on youtube became my teacher. When I realized that Bob Ross videos are not enough, Kevin Hill became my next teacher and I got full length video from his website. Good luck in your artistic journey, you have a good start!

Certainly great step-up you made over this year! practice, practice and practice :) you are doing very well. The trees , the hills, the water and clouds - everything looks great.
If you don't mind my 5 cents: look at the black border of the mountain vs sky, try to get rid of it(cover with snow) as it creates a picturesque feel. Ask me how I know ? :) I did totally the same thing without realizing and only few months later I got it figured out.
The dark value of that border brings entire mountain closer to the viewer and painting looses the distance/space in it.
