Found and like Micheal James Smith’s (MJS TV) tutorials so have done his free one - ‘Autumn Tree’. It is oil over acrylic underpainting on an A3 grey gessoed canvas that I normally use. So this was first use of acrylic paint for me so took a couple of goes to get the flow right. His oil process is wet-on-wet, and in this painting it was easy as there are discrete sections so I could take my time over a number of days to do a job that satisfied me - eventually. I’m really happy with the outcome. I really like his other work so have taken out a subscription to follow-up and do some more of his tutes.
Really pretty!
Thank you Petro and Sandy for your comments, much appreciated.
I love how the tree has depth inside of it. Awesome contrast colors and great sky holes to create air inside the tree. Such an almighty tree!
Thank you for your wonderful comments Sunnylady. This tree was a great learning process. I am looking forward to starting my next beginner tute of Michaels.
