My paintings never come out like I picture them in my head
There was something about this composition maybe those middle trees or something that pulled me in. This has tone, color, depth, and imagination. Nice work!!!

I agree with the commentators: no wasted paint here. I especially like the mid-ground tree highlighting.

I have felt that way too. What helped was to use a photo or another painting for reference. Just using our imagination can sometimes disappoint us. Take a few photo references, and then make a plan. Lightly sketch out where things might go. Good luck! BTW, this painting is beautiful. I think you’re very talented. Be gentle towards yourself!
