I generally paint along with Bob, with my mother in law and sister in law, but we (okay, I) got frustrated with the lack of true southwest scenes. Much of my inspiration comes from these places, but I like learning from Bob. So we decided to work from a photo I took on a trip to Moab a few months ago. Picked for its structural simplicity; just sky and form. I am so so happy with how it turned out... It felt like it took forever to even approach the right mix of colors on the arch. And I really didn't see it turning out so well until I stepped back from it. Yay!
I love it! Itβs a very unusual angle and you did a great job with value making it look so realistic!

Very nice, we have nothing like that near us, always marveled at them and this is a very true likeness, I love the way you have captured the light and played it off against the shadows, a lovely painting.
