Better sky this time, and I like the hill and the pines, but everything else below that not so much.
Definitely needed to learn better technique for foliage in the bushes.

Caroline, this is a difficult angle for a painter to do. You can surely nail it with few more attempts! I believe in you! As an exercise I would suggest to take rather a painting of another artist who painted similar view and the one that you love and try to replicate than a photograph. Working from photos is challenge on its own, but with more practice it all can be addressed. Looking forward seeing the next version!
Bobs method is all about technique which takes a while to master, recommend watching "grandeur of summer" Bobs full hour tutorial video.....keep it up!..the rewards are enormous
tel, you are right! Grandeur of summer is a good one for a start. But if that is not enough - check out nick hankins on youtube, he has couple of long videos. You may need VPN though to set it up as your in USA.
