I've been wanting to paint a peacock for a while now! The canvas he is on has been painted over several times and I used it again for this as a bit of a test run. Didn't really turn out like i imagined but I give it a pass. I should have used a thinner brush for his tail feathers. (Any tips on how I could fix this at this point??) Knife painting was A LOT of fun on this painting! However it used up waaay too much paint according to my wallet haha Thoughts??
Thank you! That's kind of what I was thinking about the tail feathers too. Ahhh eyes scare me haha! But in the spirit if adventure i'll see what I can do! Thanks for the feedback
It’s beautiful!! The colors are amazingly vibrant!!! Very well done!
Thank you adam! The dark background really helped bring out the bright colors. If I had done it on a light canvas ot would have looked "washed-up." In hindsight, I actually should have left more dark spaces between the tail feathers
Thank you guna! The crown was by far the easiest and most enjoyable part!

This is very artistic painting! It looks awesome! Very interesting effect that bright colors on the tail direct the eye to the center.
I suggest to do nothing with the tail because if you detail it more the eye will be taken to the background only and bird itself will be lost from compositional standpoint. Only one detail that would probable be needed or may be not( I cannot judge from the photo well) is his eye. I bit of refining to it and it will be looking back at the viewer.
