This is a painting from a photograph that I saw in National Geographic magazine, the title is “ THE MOON Our Lunar Companion “ it appears on page 18 and is credited to Larry Landolfi as the photographer. I added a chimney with smoke as it looks very cold in the Picture. This allowed me to add light to the windows and the implication of someone living in the cabin and staying warm, on a very cold night. I thought the natural phenomena of the pink belt was amazing an have looked for it since. It might have to be a cold winter night Or at least a full moon to find it.
Moon and shadows on the snow at the evening are wonderful. I had to google about Venus belt, it sounds like a very interesting natural phenomenon.
Golden Moon is amazing!
Great painting! I really like the moon and the chimney smoke. I've always wanted to try adding smoke coming out of a winter cabin chimney.
Wonderful ideas you should be very pleased!

Though I spotted Venus many times before (naked eye and telescope), I never witnessed the Venus belt. But I have to admit it is never dark enough in my country!
The painting is fantastique! That detailed shiny moon, the distant house and specially that tree is a real eye catcher!
WELL DONE!!!
