I started off wanting to do a simple mountain over a lake image. What I wound up with was a simple Washington State sort-of Mountain quartet. A Mt. Rainer, Mt. Adams, and Mt. Saint Hellens all rolled up into one over a lake. I’m not sure where the mountain on the far left came from, possibly a Mt. Baker from across the sound on a ferry rIde sort of view. Oh well, it turned out far better than I originally expected as I dove into the monochrome pool. It is acrylic actually all done with gesso’s, no actual paints Hope you like and, thank you for looking at my -painting.
Lovely, the clouds look heavy!
Thank you both. I think it is really fun to just take the two gesso B & W and start painting, there is the basic idea of what you wish to portray, just start mixing color and put it on the canvas. If you happen to paint something that is less than wonderful, just gesso over it and begin again! That seems to cause much less stress. The way I look at painting, it really should be fun and, to be fun it should be stress free. That is not easy to do of course but, if you a can pull it off it really makes painting a “Joy”, thus ‘The Joy of Painting” really can occur. OK now off the soap box, and thank you.
