Did the sky and mountain two weeks ago then finished the rest today. I really enjoyed breaking it up...more relaxing, and I didn't get tired. This might be my new way of painting.
First time making those kind of "fuzzy" pines on the right...easier than the Z trees and they turned out better.
And the mountains might be my best. Just dropped in the elements and kept on going...no agonizing over the little things. Oh. And you really need dry paint to get the snow to break. Gee. Where have I heard that before? 🤔
Overall, I really like this one.
12x16 reclaimed canvas with water-mixable oil paint.
One more thing I learned. The grassy meadow was so stinking easy to do. Put down some dark then used a 1 1/2-inch brush to dab on some yellow. Didn't like it up close, but when I stepped back a few feet, I said, "Dang. That's good just the way it is. Don't mess with it." Once again, no agonizing over the little things.
The mountains are very realistic. I have begun to dry my paint on cardboard for 20 minutes as suggested by others here and it really helps “breaking “. Great job.
Beautiful painting and nice tips on how you got such success!!
Breathtaking mountain! I also love the bark on your birch tree in the foreground
Very nice job Alex!
Thank you, Pietro1963. The mountains were fun to do.
Thanks, Cronenberg89. I've dried paint on cardboard before, too. Using leftover paint stored in a plastic container for two weeks (as I did with this one) works as well.😁
Thank you, HappyLittleCloud. Glad you like it.
Thank you, Bobschmidt21. The bark on the was surprisingly easy. Just pull the knife sideways with a curved arc to the stroke.
Thanks, Mgiese84.
This one is amazing! The mountains are so well done! Also good job with the bush reflection.
Thanks, frsakboiii.
