Wanted to do something with not much snow and a simple sky. Didn't like the way the shrubs/trees turned out on the far side of the water, so I performed a shrub-ectomy, laid down some dark, and added the highlights. Second version is much better. Also, it was the first time I ran the paint brush through a dab of red to get those flowers on the bushes. That was neat.
12x16 canvas
Thanks, Lightsnow. I still remember when I stared at a canvas, my brush and inch away, unable to marry the two. Now I'm able to scrape off whole sections and go at it again. No fear. Okay, maybe a little nervousness. 😀

Your mountains have a nice shape to them. Nice distance in the range as well. I really like your decision to add little reddish tips to your bushes. It's a nice touch. I also know the experience of what you described as being "bush economy." Been there, done that many many times. It takes a while before the thin on thick lesson really starts to sink in, but it seems like that is beginning to take hold here. Good work!
