Lilikins yes, so true. My kitty was a nightmare with antibiotics. I’ve had quite a few dogs in my lifetime and I’ve NEVER had issues with meds before. This is the first time. Bobschmidt21 yes he’s a Frenchie. He’s just a babe, only 1.5 years old. My other two are labradoodles, they’re litter mates, will be 11 next week. I remember when they were just wee pups too. Man time flies! Glad your baby is still out and about. Felix started a dog thread in the forum. You should post a photo there!!
How’s everything going? Is he adjusting alright? And most important...any more photos of the cutie? ☺️
Lilikins Oh the stories I could tell you! It has been an adventure to say the least. His suture site is healing well, and he is putting weight on his leg sometimes. Medications are still a nightmare, and he forgot he was potty trained for a bit.
Aww poor thing. Not his fault with the potty booboos though. Between the pain, anesthesia lingering, and his meds he was probably so out of it he didn’t know if he was inside, outside, or in another dimension lol.
So glad he’s on the mend!
Lilikins lol so right. I’m most certainly not mad at him! Breaks my heart really, it’s so hard to see our fur babies in pain. He did well today. No accidents, and we are all done with the antibiotics (one of the biggest pills), so there’s light at the end of the tunnel! Thanks again for inquiring about him.
doggymommee8301 I hope your Pup is doing well. i completely empathise with you & your doggies, my beloved cat, Django, has been in the animal hospital since 2nd January, he had spinal surgery for a collapse disc. He still isn’t able to use his back legs, but paws crossed he should be home soon. Lots of love and healing thoughts to you & your brave little puppy, I hope he’s up and about as soon as possible xxx
Merry Christmas @doggymommee8301 - how is Caxton now Heather - over the surgery and enjoying life again?
Hi @Colin Hudson#947 ! Thank you! Merry (belated) Christmas to you as well! Caxton actually had a follow-up appointment today. X-rays looked good! He is finally allowed off leash in the house and back yard, and supervised play with my other dogs. Still no jumping for the next four months, but the vet didn't feel the need to see him again (unless the pins start coming out of his leg). Thanks for asking!
Excellent news! Best belated christmas present ever!
Best of luck to Django ib his recovery. Everything takes time but keep your spirits up.
@N Kav#1062 Thank you N Kav. I am so sorry to hear about your kitty, Django. Many healing thoughts I am sending your way. Spinal surgery sounds very scary. Please keep us posted. Caxton is doing quite well. Taking longer walks each day, and hardly limping at all now! We even had a doggy play date over the weekend with his birth mommy! They looked so cute playing together.
doggymommee8301 I’m so glad Caxton is doing well! That’s so great that he’s able to go on walks and play dates now. That visit with his birth mommy must have been super cute.
N Kav I hope Django recovers soon. Poor baby 😿
@N Kav#1062 How is Django?
Hello everyone, I’m so pleased that Caxton’s surgery went well and it sounds like he’s doing really well. I only just saw your messages, thank you all so much for your kind words and support. Here is an update: Django was allowed home from the animal hospital last Wednesday, the 18 days he spent there have seemed like an eternity, the vets & nurses were lovely and kept us updated 2 or 3 times a day ( no visiting due to the virus). He had to have a collapsed disc removed from his spine and although he still isn’t walking yet he has some movement in his back legs and paws and can move his tail a little. Hopefully he will keep improving, he’s very happy to be home and reunited with his brother.
