Hi - I am new to the site and not sure if anybody can help me.
My wife passed in the Queenscourt Hospice in Southport, England some time ago. I have raised money to support them but am getting a bit long in the tooth to do much nowadays. I have come up with the idea of creating electronic Christmas cards for them to sell on their site.
Does anybody have any such images that they would like to donate please? I can make them into the proper format for them so just .jpg images would be gratfully accepted. Thanks.
Christmas pictures needed for charity cards
What a lovely idea! Feel free to any of the paintings I have posted. I am sure there are others here who would be willing to let you use their artwork as well.
Hello Colin,
My sincere condolences to you. If you would like to share more about your wife and her life we would all be honored to learn more about her.
Do you have a deadline until when you'll need to receive these pictues to create the electronic Christmas cards?
Theres a new feature on this website for a few weeks now, where members can submit their paintings to special themed events. The first one was Halloween, the current one is all about water and watercolors.
To the community: would you guys be interested in adding a second event with a Christmas theme, where all submitted paintings would be donated to Colin to create the e-cards for the hospice? It would run parallel to the current one.
@Felix Count me in!! Absolutely!
I think this is a wonderful idea. Honestly, I was hoping there would be a Christmas-themed event coming up. I'd really like to push myself to try and paint a quaint little snowy village scene. Colin - if you want to use any painting I have uploaded here on my profile, please feel free. No problem at all. I'd be more than glad to help. I'll try and paint another winter-themed painting soon just for this.
doggymommee8301 Many, many thanks. Your help is very much appreciated.
Felix H Felix, thanks for your comments. I didn't want to just download peoples work without their permission. I want to support the charity but without being a bit dishonest 8-)
Your suggestion of having a separate event, that would really help a lot of charities. Covid has really killed their income this year.
Thanks everybody for your support.
lightsnow Again, many, many thanks. Your help is very much appreciated.
I know I have said it before, but I will say it again. I really... really love this community. Thank you @Felix for bringing us all together. The spirit of Bob really does live on here!
Any images you see on my thread that you'd like to use, you're welcome to them! My most recent image is one that someone here suggested may be something you'd be interested in.
@Felix if you do turn this into an event for the charity cards I would suggest you consider allowing unlimited submissions. I myself will try to get as many done as I can either way!
jeremiah11719 Many thanks - I will have a look now. Much appreciated.
@Colin Hudson#579 Thank you Colin, your initiative will always have my cheers but, with respect, I don't want any of my past, present or future artistic work to be used for this EXCEPT for the one I will be making this weekend, a X-mas related one.
Thank you for respecting my wish! I will keep you posted when my creation is ready.
Regards,
Voy Kay
Just checking in to see if you had a specific deadline for these paintings? I have a few friends that are artists and use different mediums (watercolor and acrylic) and they seem interested. Please feel free to have a look at all of my paintings and reach out to me directly if one catches your eye. I recently (finally) got a new cellphone that happens to have an excellent camera, so what I could do is take a nice, high quality photo of that painting and send it to you. I'm also cooking up some new ideas of paintings I could create the would fit a winter or Xmas theme.
@Colin Hudson I've created a special event for holiday pictures: https://www.twoinchbrush.com/events/holiday-spirit
You can download and use all submitted paintings in this event, I'd just like to ask you to credit the painter and TwoInchBrush.com when you do.
@Voy Kay#591 You have done some wonderful work. I would never think of stealing any of you work, hence my original question. Keep on dabbing!
Felix Hey Felix - that is really appreciated and I will put your name of the cards when I give them to Queenscourt Hospice.
Hi Lightsnow - That is a really good idea. I promise not to use them if you say no.
@Colin Hudson#567
Hello there Colin,
what a brilliant idea!
you can happily use any of the pictures I’ve posted. I hope you raise lots for the Hospice,
best wishes Neime
(ps I used to visit Southport quite often, my Aunt lived near by)
