I would like to know what modifications have you done to your Bob Ross Easel. Especially interested in mods related to the screws that are supposed to be used to hold the canvas.

However any mods would be welcomed.

Please include photos.

Thanks

I don't know how to add an image, sorry.
I replaced the mounting screws with bigger ones and added more screws facing up and down. I like to use 1 1/2" deep canvases and this allows me to mount the canvas with the screws holding the canvas from the inside so I have better access to paint the edges.

I also mounted a paper towel holder on the upper cross bar of the legs.

Any suggestions on how to make the BR easel way more sturdy? In his videos with his new BR easel, Bob's don't shake a bit. Mine does a lots when I dab hard. I have to hold on to one side of it while dabbing.

The same for me Nancy. His “ladder easel” had 2 or 3 cmu blocks as weight holding it down. Maybe he did the same with the new easel?

I might have to rig something like that. Thank you for sharing your trick!
