Hi everyone! I have read a lot of folks (including Bob) say to add "just a touch" of thinner, liquid white, or liquid clear for doing highlights. I feel like I add a bunch and keep trying but then it gets to the point where it just sort of globs onto the canvas.
I know I must be doing something incorrectly. Would anyone mind posting a pic of their brush with a "touch" of liquid white so I can get some perspective? Thanks!

I think what's probably even more important is how much paint is on your brush and the pressure you're using when applying paint to the canvas. What I would recommend is to look for seeing that lacy imprint on your palette as you load your brush. If you see that you know your paint is thin enough AND that you have enough loaded on your brush. To deal with the pressure I would literally hold your brush as far away from the bristles as possible. Hope this helps 🙂

ironchefmitty I agree. The risk you run if it's too thin then when you start to highlight you won't get a nice lacy effect and it kind of looks like a blob
