Many years ago my sister mentioned to me to try adding glycerin to acrylic paint. I ended up buying some way back then but never used it. I found the old bottle with a tiny little bit left in it (it was about 25 years ago ) I tried it out only once when I painted one of my earliest Bob Ross paintings. It worked by keeping the paint super slick.(I actually hated using it) and my painting took about 5 days to dry. I don't remember where I bought it and have been wanting to try it out again .. So my search is on to find some. The bottle reads "for relief from dry chapped skin" I guess I will try the pharmacy.
Has anyone heard of this before?
Glycerin added to acrylic paint
5 days later
I haven’t ever tried it but it would be interesting to see. I wonder what ratio could be used before it diminishes the stability of the paint. I realize this is pretty late but if you go to the pharmacy it should be in the first aid aisle. Usually next to neosporin/wound cream area.
Thanks for the info @Lilikins. I have yet to find some .. But I have been looking in the wrong area too in the pharmacy( hand creams area) I will check out the area you said where the polysporin is

I found glycerin to be too tacky, too sticky. I was sure hoping it would work for me..................
