Hello,

My Script Liner brush is not working well, its hairs are going in all directions, and the line tends to split while painting. Very annoying. It is done for and I need to replace it?

I used it for around 70 paintings. I always wash it in odorless mineral spirits, and even tried conditionner, but it keeps doing that.

ShadowscarsDragon wow 70 paintings! It survived a long time meaning you cared well enough about it. Mine are quite cheap and go through 30 paintings or so. I degrease them with kitchen degreaser once a month since mine are synthetic and can handle the chemicals. But here and there I overestimate my capabilities to paint next day and they dry out. Then I put them in turpentine for an overnight soak. Turpentine is from builders store which I use ONLY for brush cleaning.

When my brushes get really dirty and out-of-shape, I use The Masters soap to get them back to a usable state (I also use it to wash my hands after painting, especially because I sometimes use some lead-based paints). https://www.jerrysartarama.com/masters-artist-hand-soap. I think they also make a specific brush cleaning formula, but I have not used that.

        7 days later

I use 2 of the bob ross liner brushes, one of them does this and the other one doesn't yet I have have treated them both the same, strange. The only thing I can think of that might have caused it is because I will have used one of them for acrylic underpainting and I possibly didn't clean it well enough.
