I'm currently planing on drawing a rocket launch. For that project I'm studying clouds.
The clouds here are me figuring out how to shade them and which types of arcs (to draw the 'fluffs' of the cloud) work best.
I found that arccs of two sizes (one around 3 to 4 times as big as the other) work best. It is important not get the angles between them too sharp. A good rule of thumb is to keep every stroke shorter than a half circle.
Three different values of shade give anough variation to create a first sense of depth in the clouds.
Sadly the top cloud took away all the space I needed for the rocket. But hey, it's a study of clouds anyway 😉
