Second paint date with Doggymommee where we decided to take on 'Fire lake' from CRI Bram. I've done this one before in reddish colouring so changed that now to yellowish to become part of my African series.

Best thing about this creation is, without any doubt, the joy and fun you'll have while painting this along with a good friend. Thanks to Skype, some careful painting preparations (read the article please!) and some flexible time zone appreciation, we managed to paint our own versions of 'Fire lake' together in little over three hours.
Mind you, we were not in a rush at all and did take lots of time for some banter, good stories, jokes and just .... you know, being respectable and understandable friends amongst each other, even when we were 4673,5 miles away. It never felt that far away though, I can assure you.

It has been mentioned several times before by Doggymommee, Sunnylady and myself, to really try such paint dates yourself. You will be amazed in many ways, be sure of that!

Please enjoy Doggymommee's creation and mine and let us know what you think of it on the forum as well as in our comment boxes!! Thanks!!

I wish I had more reliable internet, this sounds like so much fun! Unfortunately my art room is on the opposite side of the house as my modem so my connection is spotty at best šŸ™ Sounds like you two had tons of fun!

@doggymommee8301 , @Voy Kay - this is absolutely fantastic you guys painted together. I am supporting that great fun and learning and friendship we found here. Everyone, please do not be shy and let's get together for painting, it is incredible experience. I surely recommend it too!

Felix And for sure it warms our hearts that you are so supportive and motivating for these endeavours! We will carry this on, you bet!

Lilikins Think 'The time of your life' Lilikens (no dirty dancing but happy painting!).
Any chance to roll your easel for a few hours to a room with good connection? It would be worth it!

Sunnylady I highly cheer and recommend your call-up Sunnylady!
In fact, you were the drive for the very first paintdate, remember? Amongst the best request I ever had!! šŸ˜

Sunnylady Iā€™ll be honest I havenā€™t used Skype since my undergraduate days many moons ago so that didnā€™t occur to me. Iā€™m sure thereā€™s a solution somewhere I am just technologically challenged. Iā€™ll get my husband to look into it. If I tell him it canā€™t be done he sees it as a challenge and makes it happen - thatā€™s how I got my easelšŸ˜‚

Oh wow Lilikins! I laughed so hard just now! Last paint date with Voy, I actually ended up using the Skype app on my phone, because my personal laptop is a dinosaur and the audio is bad so I ended up having to use corded headphones. That was a bit cumbersome. So with my phone, I was able to show Voy what I was working on easier because it is MUCH lighter than my laptop. Added benefit, I used blue tooth headphones. If you want some help on internet boosting ideas, let me know. My boyfriend works in IT, so he can point your hubby onto the right path.

doggymommee8301 so it worked well on your phone? If the WiFi connection is poor I could always use the data on my phone but I figured the little screen wouldnā€™t work. Can you do a Skype call with multiple people? Maybe we can have a Skype party!

Lilikins the screen was obviously smaller, so it was a little more difficult to see what Voy was working on, but I much prefer the phone because of the audio quality. Iā€™m thinking about getting a new laptop now. Iā€™ve never used my PC for anything but writing but I HOPE there will be many more paint dates in my future and Iā€™m in a weekly RPG now, so I guess itā€™s time to upgrade. A Skype paint party would be awesome!!!!
