So I’ve got a few paintings under my belt, and got the itch to do a lot more. What sort of spaces do you all have set up to have multiple paintings drying at once?
Drying Paintings
I paint on weekends. I use tops of the cupboards to dry them. But it allows me to keep only 3 average size paintings on that very cupboard. After it is touch dry (1-2 weeks) I move it to the Ikea shelf to dry fully or hang on the wall to dry fully (depending how productive I was and how many I need to accommodate for drying) .
There is health associated thing here - try find a place where no one spends a lot of time per day or have ventilation sucking to outside. Fumes and smell is there.
Fortunately I don’t deal with oil paintings so my drying time is at most 1 day but I have seen people use those collapsible clothing racks to use as shelving.
I have a spare bedroom, i probably do on average three paintings a week so need plenty of drying space, alas no more fumes with my new W&N water mixable oils
