Recently I saw that people avoid cabins as worst beasts to paint.
They are not so difficult. However there are couple of rules.
I decided to start this thread that people can share the valuable links about the perspective.

I have found some time ago really nice video on Youtube about two point perspective that i shared here few times already.
Two-point perspective is the key to paint cabins right and sit them in the painting.
Perspective will also help to define the height of the trees at the distance.

Get inspired to draw 5-10 different cabins on paper with pencil and this skill will settle and each next cabin in your painting will be only better.

Thanks! Perspective is so important and something that I struggle with. I find that taking a break and stepping back also helps me. I’ve heard many people recommend stepping back 6ft periodically while painting to see if things still look “right”. I don’t have 6ft to spare so I take a photo and that seems to work for me.

Lilikins I do not have 6 ft too. I do take breaks for tea. It helps to notice problems. But the best for me as you pointed out also best for you is photo. Very often I take final photo to upload here and see my mistakes. I try to correct if I can, but for some the moment is gone.

Sunnylady that’s why I take a photo right before I have a break. Often I will sit and have tea and look at the photos and notice something I didn’t see before while painting and I’ll plan my next steps.
